From the foot stomping of southern Spain to the lively rhythm of the tabla (drum) in Egypt, to the glittering dresses of the gulf swaying with the flip of long beautiful hair, the West Michigan School of Middle Eastern Dance captures the essential spirit of Middle Eastern dance. Playful, yet dramatic and intoxicating the senses to create a timeless rapture of the spirit. Members of the school perform a diverse repertoire of folkloric and contemporary dances that will expand your perceptions of Middle Eastern dance. Our students have a well-rounded understanding of not just dance, but Middle Eastern music and culture as well.
